I am a landscape painter, and former art teacher with over thirty years of art teaching experience in Massachusetts. My fascination with the natural world as well as architectural forms inspires my painting in oils, watercolors, and pastels. Capturing the essential forms in color and showing how light affects them is what I strive for. My love for traveling provides wonderful inspiration. My paintings reflect the influence, mood, and spirit of wherever I travel, near and far. Each painting is a journey with new problems and discoveries along the way. I hope to give each painting a sense of presence so that I might give the viewer a feeling of “being there.”

My love for art, painting, and teaching began while attending the Museum of Fine Arts After School Classes, through a scholarship for high school students in Boston. After graduating from Emmanuel College, with Distinction in the Field of Art, I began my career in Marblehead. I received a Masters Degree in Art Education from the Massachusetts College of Art. I continued my teaching career at Notre Dame Academy and Milton Academy before teaching the last fifteen years in the Boston Public Schools. In addition, I graduated with a Masters Degree in Museum Studies at Harvard University, and served as the Director of the Milton Art Museum. I am grateful for the many opportunities for personal and professional development afforded me through study and travel grants. My travels inspire me to paint with passion.

I have shown my work in local museum and college galleries as well as libraries, businesses, churches, and festivals. My paintings are in private collections throughout New England. I am a juried member of the gallery of the Guild of Harwich Artists and the Eastham Painter's Guild.
